Berlin has two Zoos, one in the city center of the former West-Berlin, and one in the former East-Berlin. Even though I feel a bit ambivalent and often times uneasy about Zoos, I’ve been to both of the ones in Berlin, as well as many others in the United States and East Asia. I definitely prefer the Tierpark (former East-Berlin), because it’s much more spacious and feels slightly more like a park than a city zoo. Here’s a photo of me trying to get up and close to a gorgeous male peacock.
